Meridian Charity Golf Classic 2008 - In Support of the Alberta Cancer Foundation

On August 20, 2008, Meridian held it’s forth annual Charity Golf Classic in support of the Alberta Cancer Foundation. The weather cooperated and we were joined by valuable customers, supportive vendors, and special celebrity guests.

One highlight at this year’s event was Ladies Long Drive Champion, Lisa “Longball” Vlooswyk, who put on an outstanding demonstration that left the crowd in awe. Calgary Stampeder, Brett Ralph also came out to support the event by taking part in a long drive challenge with Lisa and three other long driver’s of the day.

The Calgary Stampeders Football Club generously donated an Autographed Stampeder Team Ball that the Ex- Stampeder and Hall-of-Famer, Rocco Romano auctioned off at the event, raising an additional $1,000 in support of Cancer Care in Alberta.

Meridian started this tournament as a Customer Appreciation event to thank our customers for their support of our business. Meridian continues to appreciate our customers, but has expanded this event to do even more – Help our community. In the last three years, with our customer’s generous support and the outstanding support of sponsors, Meridian has raised and donated over $58,000.00 to the Alberta Cancer Foundation who play an important role in the province.

Thank you to all who participated in this year’s tournament and made it a successful event for such a worthwhile cause.
